Tangier to Marrakech
Day 1: Tangier - Chefchaouen
Your driver guide will pick you up from the ferry or the airport in Tangier and head towards Chefchaouen, or the ‘blue city’, is arguably one of the prettiest places in Morocco. Set against a wide valley and nestled between two peaks in the stunning Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen may take you by surprise. Its medina has been lovingly cared for with striking blue and whitewashed houses, red-tiled roofs and artistic doorways. Much of Chefchaouen was recreated by Andalusian refugees escaping the Reconquistia, so you might feel like you're in the hills of Spain while exploring its streets. Ease into the relaxed pace of life in this rural retreat. Take a stroll through the ancient medina and shop for handicrafts, go hiking in the Rif mountains or simply sit at a cafe and enjoy the pleasure of time passing by. If you're feeling peckish, the goats' cheese on offer is a popular treat enjoyed by many visitors.. Overnight at your riad in Chefchaouen located in the heart of the old Medina. Bed and breakfast.
Day 2 : Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
After breakfast in the Riad our journey will start towards Volubilis crossing Ouazan and other Rif villages, in Volubilis we will stop to discover the roman ruins and learn about the archaeological site of Moroccan history , after the visit of the ruins we will shift our way to Meknes city the 17 th century heritage where we will stop for lunch and hang around the historical huge walls of the medina , Bab El Mansour and enjoy a visit of Moulay Ismail’s mausoluem. overnight in your riad located in the Medina of Fez and includes bed and breakfast.
Day 3: Fez Guided Tour
Take a guided walking tour of the old city, known locally as Fes el Bali. Step back into the Middle Ages in the labyrinth of the Medina, which is alive with craftsmen, markets, tanneries and mosques. Pass donkeys piled high with goods (this is one of the largest car-free urban zones in the world) and explore the specialty sections that divide the souk. Look out for the Medersa Bou Inania, one of the city's most beautiful buildings, which has recently been restored and is now open to tourists. Visit Medresse el Attarine and the splendid Funduk Nejjarine, a beautifully restored 18th century inn. You'll also see the famous tannery, known for the iconic view overlooking its dye pits, and a ceramics factory where you can see potters working in the traditional way... Day 4 : Fez to Merzouga Desert (Erg Chebbi Dunes)
Today, we will travel towards the south. During this journey you’ll experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. Stopping at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest – the largest in Morocco – where you may well sight Barbary apes. After sometimes within the forest, your journey continues to Midelt along the magnificent hills and mountains of the Atlas. You will be travelling through the fascinating Tiz Ntalghamt pass and the Ziz Gorge, taking in views of the High Atlas plateau, you’ll notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia, here you will have lunch and enjoy the Berber hospitality, afterwards, you will travel along the luxuriant Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way to Erfoud and Rissani. Arrive to Merzouga on the afternoon. Check into your hotel overlooking the Erg chebbi dunes. Dinner, bed, and breakfast included.
Day 5 : Erg Chebbi Dunes Tour - Camel trekking
After breakfast we’ll start exploring the area, we will begin by visiting the village of Khamlia where people originally from Mali live, to enjoy their spiritual music and learn about the way they live. After that, we will drive to Miffis Mines to explore how they work over there before getting behind the Dunes in a full desert with charming views. After lunch in a local restaurant, we will be returning back to the hotel. Enjoy a swim and fresh up before your camel trek adventure towards the camp in the middle of the Erg Chebbi dunes. You will be guided by a local Desert camel man, who will be telling you stories about the life in the Sahara and also stop for you to watch and enjoy the sunset. Continue to the camp. Overnight in a traditional Berber tent include dinner, bed, and breakfast.
Day 6 : Merzouga - Todgha Gorges - Dades Valley
Your camel Guide will wake you up early in the morning to watch what well may be the best sunrise of your life. You’ll peacefully camel-trek back to the village of Merzouga. En-route you won’t fail to appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes – changing with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast, you’ll leave for Rissani, Tinghir and Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco and after lunch in the heart of the gorge we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. Overnight accommodation will be in a hotel overlooking the Dades valley.
Day 7: Dades Valley - Roses Valley - Kasbah Amridil - Ouarzazate
Today, we will venture through the way of the thousand kasbahs; providing numerous opportunities to take some of your best photographic shots of the trip. We’ll stop at Kalaa Mgouna, “the rose city”, to get the rosewater, which will make your linen smell good a long time after your trip is over. Continuing onto Skoura and the dirds valley; you’ll visit the Kasbah Ameridil, a well-preserved Kasbah in this area. After some hiking in the valley and a restaurant stop overlooking the whole valley, for lunch, it’s onto Ouarzazate , “the Hollywood of Africa”, whose geography and beautiful landscapes has attracted many world class movie producers. Here you may choose to visit the studios, containing props used in movies such as The Mummy, Gladiator and the Last temptation of Christ. .. Overnight accommodation will be in your hotel. Dinner, bed, and breakfast included.
Day 8: Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - High Atlas Mountains - Marrakech
After breakfast in your Riad, we’ll head to Marrakech , visiting Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. The former is the largest Kasbah in Morocco, built by T-hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains during the beginning of the XXth Century, it used to be one of his stops during his long travel from the Sahara to Marrakech. Now one of UNESCO’s world heritage sites. Your journey will continue through the majestic Tizi n’tichka Pass (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech. Overnight in your riad located in the heart of the old Medina. Bed, and breakfast included.
Day 9: Marrakech Guided Tour
You will have a guided tour to discover the most exotic places of Marrakech including the famous Jamaa El fna square, Majorelle Gardens, Saadians Tombs with a stroll in the labyrinth of the narrow streets of the Medina amongst its famous Souks. Overnight at hotel/riad include bed and breakfast.
Day 10: Marrakech - Essaouira
This morning after breakfast, we will leave Marrakech “the red city” toward Essaouira, facing the Atlantic Ocean, is famous for it beautiful fortress, it Gnaoua Music Festival and it Windsurf Championship. With the animation of the port, the colourful stands of the market and all artists who came for it inspiration, Essaouira is full of life, full of light and full of magic. Overnight in your riad overlooking the beach and include bed and breakfast.
Day 11: Essaouira - Chichaoua - Marrakech
In the morning after breakfast we will drive you out of Essaouira about 20 Km toward one of the beautiful and clean beaches in Morocco called "Sidi Kaouki" to enjoy a half day swimming and relaxing .Have delicious lunch there. Later on we drive you back to Marrakech. Overnight with Bed and Breakfast in your Riad.
Day 12: Departure
This morning after breakfast and according to your flight details, we will transfer you to the airport in Marrakech or to Casablanca airport.
